chaldean on the STREET What are you most grateful for this Thanksgiving? By Anthony Samona May your stuffing be tasty, may your turkey be plump, may your potatoes and gravy have nary a lump. May your yams be delicious and your pies take the prize, and may your Thanksgiving dinner stay off your thighs. For this year’s Thanksgiving, I am very thankful for the way my job situation worked out. Being laid off this past summer allowed me to go on the most memorable and life-changing experience: Kairos. That led me to now have a new and better job than before. Just be patient, and things will happen the way you want them to turn out. Andy Bakkal, 20 West Bloomfield This year, I am thankful to God for the gift of good health for myself and my family. I’m thankful to be spending Thanksgiving with my family and remembering those who aren’t able to spend Thanksgiving with their families. I’m also thankful for the doctors who work to treat those who are suffering with health issues. Julian Tinpan, 28 Sterling Heights This past year I began a charity with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and changed a child’s life by making his wish come true. This child is suffering from brain cancer and it makes me so happy knowing I made a positive change in someone else’s life and put a smile on his face. Without my family always supporting me, I would be nowhere. Brittni Shoukri, 22 West Bloomfield I’m most thankful for all of my blessings and accomplishments. I’m so happy I was able to share this year’s accomplishments with my amazing family, because without them it would all mean nothing. Most of all, I am thankful for my angel in Heaven.
