obituaries Aziz Yousif Nafso Aziz Yousif Nafso, the first born child to Yousif & Hamri Nafso, was born in the village of Telkaif in 1914. He died in 2009. Aziz Nafso was the eldest brother of three siblings, Hana, Jamil and Mary. He grew up in the village until the age of 26 when he met and married his 13- year-old beautiful bride, Marjanta Ouro. God blessed both of them with 68 years of marriage together. They later moved to the city of Baghdad, Iraq. Aziz Nafso was proud to be the father of eight beautiful children, Masoud (Ahlam), Suad (Adel), Suhaila, Faiza (Thamir), Maysoon (Wadie), Khilood (Yass), Thair (Stephanie), and Wiaam (Raad), who later made Baba an amazing grandfather and great-grandfather to 32 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. They will always remember their Jido as a fun and good man. In 1975, Baba immigrated to America along with his family. Baba lived a long and healthy life. He always loved attention and having everyone’s eyes upon him. He was a loving and caring man who always wanted the best for his family. Baba lived an amazing 96 years of life until the day he left this world to eternal life, without any pain or suffering. He was blessed to go while surrounded by his children with their prayers and tears, which washed his soul as he was being carried by the angels from above, to see the face of God. Baba/Jido, please look down upon all of us, and remember to pray for each and every one of us. As you are now closer to the Lord, ask him to give us the strength, faith and hope and to bless us to continue raising our children just like the way you and Nana Marjanta raised us, and to allow us to be good Christians. Baba, you will be missed greatly, especially in our big family gatherings with your humorous jokes and stories. You left a special place in our hearts. Your great spirit and unforgettable smile will always be with us. Until we meet again, rest in peace our beloved father, Aziz Nafso. We love you Baba/Jido! Yousuf Abdal Orow Yousuf Abdal Orow passed away peacefully on August 6, 2009. He was born on February 12, 1922, in Baghdad, Iraq, but lived the majority of his life in the United States. He led a privileged life while in Baghdad. He graduated from the Royal College of Pharmacy and Chemistry in Bagdad as a Pharmaceutical Chemist. He taught college classes in chemistry. He began his career working as a pharmacist in The Royal Hospital in Baghdad. Leaving behind his family and friends, Joe made the journey to the United States in 1951. He continued his pharmaceutical studies at Wayne State University in Detroit. In 1957, he began his career as a chemist for General Motors Corporation, Cadillac Division. He remained with Cadillac Motors until his retirement in 1985, after 28 years of service. His family and friends referred to him as “Joe.” We will remember him as a kind, gentle and thoughtful man who lived his life with strong family values. He cherished the countless occasions when family and friends gathered at his home. Education was a priority in the household. He encouraged and guided each of his three children and grandchildren in completing college and subsequent advanced degrees. Joe filled his days with his lifelong pursuits of cooking, baking and especially entertaining. He was often found boating and relaxing at his lakefront home for 31 years. If only we could be as giving, understanding and generous as Joe was, then this world would be a far better place. The family of Yousuf Orow extends our gratitude to those who have helped us during this difficult time. We appreciate all of the condolences and are grateful for everyone’s prayers in his behalf. We know Joe will always be with us in our hearts and memories. As our family continues to gather together, we will forever miss the beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, but we will always remember and cherish the wonderful memories that will move our lives forward to keep Yousuf Abdal Orow’s legacy alive for all the generations to come. To the world he might have been just one person, but to his family he was center of their world. Kenneth Kanoona Yaldoo Kenneth Kanoona Yaldoo was born on December 4, 1977 and passed away on August 18, 2009. He was the son of Roxi and the late Peggy Yaldoo and is survived by his father and brothers, Terry (Rajaa), Bernard and Patrick, and his sisters, Cheryl, Pamela and Cynthia (Tom) Kyriakoza. He was a beloved uncle to Monique, Dominic and Joey Yaldoo and Trevor and Lennon Kyriakoza. Kenny was a vibrant and kind young man who was taken from us too soon. He owned his own maintenance property management company with his brother Patrick. Kenny loved from all his heart and touched everyone he met. He was an honest and hardworking man, and was always willing to help anyone who needed it. Kenny was the youngest of seven children and will always be remembered as our “baby brother.” Words will never be able to express our sorrow on the loss of our brother Kenny. He is with our mother now and at peace with God. They will both be forever in our hearts.
