Although some parishioners were attending Bible and Aramaic study classes that evening and worshipers had been arriving for services, no one was injured in the blaze, according to the Contra Costa Times. The House of Worship Task Force had been called to investigate amid fears that the fire could have been arson. This is God’s house, Jesus’ house.” The church is raising funds to rebuild. Send checks made out to Assyrian Church of the East to 9555 Lindley Avenue, Tarzana, CA 91356.
