events bishop’s dinner Photos by David Reed More than 1,000 people attended a gala at Penna’s last month in celebration of the St. Thomas Chaldean Catholic Diocese and Bishop Ibrahim’s anniversary. ECRC co-founder Karam Bahnam served as the evening’s master of ceremonies. Guest speakers spoke about the history of the diocese as well as the community, and the soon-to-be Chaldean Library and Cultural Center was featured. “I want to express my deepest gratitude to all of you who came out and supported this evening,” said Bishop Ibrahim. “I am truly honored that so many community members are united in Christ to keep our faith, traditions and culture alive.” 40 CHALDEAN NEWS MAY 2013
